Beautiful dark walnut color. On the nose very floral and sweet. Aromas of apricots and cherry. Forward sweetness on the pallet with dominating floral character. More apricots, raisins, oak, and vanilla. Aftertaste is long and dominated by vanilla and ripe fruit. A bit harsh, but overall pleasant and enjoyable. A few drops of water strengthen the fruitness even more, and pallet smoothens and becomes more rounded. Overall quite nice yet a bit harsh, which is not too surprising for this 4yo whiskey.

Malt with a hint of vanilla on the nose. Pallet is sweet with Sherry, oak, and spice. Aroma starts to develop vanilla notes, and finish is long dominated by dried fruit and vanilla, finishing with a hint of nuts. Rather smooth, but tastes it's age (12y). A few drops of water open more brine on the nose and pallet, but overall makes the pallet flatter. In conclusion - very decent and worth the price.

Highland Park 18 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed April 12, 2019 (edited April 20, 2019)Delicate apricot and peach on the nose with a hint of brine, oak, and chocolate. Fruity character plays well with a hint of smoke and caramel on the back. Pallet is complex, with smoke coming out first, and sweetness and fruit developing later. Sweetness is intermingled with salty notes, and all tied well together with delicate peat and fruit. Aftertaste is light smoke with ripe fruit and caramel notes. A few drops of water develops more sweetness and freshness. Overall very smooth, complex, and satisfying. One of the best complex whiskeys. -
Color is light yellow, clear. Strong peat on the nose, with hints of saltly breeze and oak. Pallet is oily and rich with smoke. Overwhelming peat at first, but after a couple of sips spice starts to develop, with complex oak and hints of vanilla, lemon zest, and fresh fruit. Aftertaste is long and complex, dominated by phenols and smoke, with somewhat bitter aftertaste. A few drops of water open more fruity and vanilla flavors and suppress the smoke. Taste develops more spice and becomes more balanced. Overall very enjoyable for peat lovers, yet quite complex on the pallet.

Tamnavulin Double Cask
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 4, 2019 (edited June 22, 2019)Caramel, toffee, and burnt sugar on the nose. Hints of barley and anise. Cocoa and caramel on the pallet, accompanied by oak and Cajun spices. Aftertaste develops vanilla and oak, with grassy flavors, rather short in duration. A couple of water drops opens up caramel nose even more, and floral taste dominates on the pallet. Hints of bread and more grassy flavors. Overall very pleasant and rather smooth. -
Malt with a hint of peat on the nose. Earthy and grassy. Salt and peat on the pallet, developing hints of fudge. Aftertaste is woody with lingering smoke on the back. On subsequent sips, hints of caramel and Sherry. A few drops of water opens more caramel flavors and tones down the peat. Hints of fresh fruit start to appear. Overall smooth and pleasant with nice aftertaste. I think water does help to open this up more.
