A bit more body and flavour than the black. Nose: citrus, toffee Taste: sweet and a bit watery (like the black and the blue). So very easy to drink. Finish: a hint of oak and a tad of smoke. I guess, if you mix a highland park with a bit of Lagavulin and water, you’re there. ;p Easy to drink. More interesting than the red, black and blue and rather inexpensive. (Around 26€ per 70ml if you source right). Still wouldn’t buy, but a good alternative at simple bars12.0 EUR per ShotSouth Palms Resort Panglao

Nose: honey and alcohol (almost like glue ;p) Taste: very (!) light. Almost watery. Initially a bit more character than the JW blue that we had two days ago, but it ends with a alcohol taste. ...but not too aggressive. Easy to drink. But nothing to write home about. Saw it on sale for about 23€...and I guess that what’s it worth.4.0 EUR per ShotBahay Bakasyunan Sa Camiguin Resort

Neat, was standing quite a while while having beers (Savoy, Manila) Nose: sherry, slight oak and later alcohol Taste: smooth, but almost watery (did they water it down?!) Finish: slightly acidic. Easy (too easy) to drink. Nothing to offend, but the lack of flavour. Have to try again in Europe, but so far it’s more like a 40-50€ Whisky. Wouldn’t buy it.8.0 EUR per PourSavoy Hotel Manila

Highland Park 12 Year Viking Honour
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed October 27, 2019 (edited November 17, 2019)Has been standing a bit. The last time was a good solid whisky, which I would buy again. Now...(after having an Aberfeldy 12) Nose: alcohol hits first, so I am just getting a slight burning sensation and don’t smell too much. Taste: smooth with very slight peat in background Finish. Sweet and long with slight burn in the throat. Last time I preferred the HP over he Aberfeldy as it had more presence and tasted fuller. ...now I am not that sure anymore...399.0 SEK per Bottle -
Aberfeldy 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 27, 2019 (edited November 13, 2019)Nose: butterscotch Taste: raisins, slightly acidic and fine tobacco(?!) notes Finish: rather short. ...somehow again a tobacco taste (I am not a smoker) Overall easy, well rounded and slightly sweet notes. I guess a good choice for an everyday or a starter into whisky.35.0 EUR per Bottle
