Glen Grant 15 Year Batch Strength 1st Edition
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 28, 2021 (edited August 5, 2021)An amazing nose sweet sugary baked goods almost like honey glazed donuts combined with some vanilla and a little fruitiness-maybe apples or pears. More of the same on the palate. The finish is long and unique for me as the alcohol makes a strong appearance late in the finish. An excellent whiskey, very well balanced. -
Davidson Reserve Tennessee Straight Sour Mash Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee , USA
Reviewed June 13, 2021Typical bourbon nose: sweet caramel with vanilla and oak. More of the same on the palate to begin with then spice takes over big time. Nice mocha coffee notes on the finish. Very good. -
Big and bold. Not too much alcohol on the nose despite the proof. Molasses, vanilla, oak and a little spice on the nose. More of the same on the palate with a lot more spice, a hint of sugary fruit (orange?) with burnt sugar on the end. A very nice oily mouthfeel is noticeable. The finish is long not surprisingly given the high ABV. Intense yet smooth. Great.

John Walker & Sons Celebratory Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed April 11, 2021 (edited December 6, 2021)Flowers and red wine on the nose. More of the same on the palate with sweetness, nice spice, and vanilla showing up late. A very nice creamy mouthfeel. A long finish with spice, sweet syrupy fruit and vanilla. JW has done it again, opened my bottle, had some and then picked up another bottle right away. Enough said. -
Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 27, 2021 (edited April 23, 2021)Fruity, grassy, floral with some creamy vanilla type notes. Well balanced with no notes overpowering the others, a nice finish to boot. Very nice, a classic for a reason.
