I’ve been wanting to try this for a couple of years, it far exceeded my somewhat high expectations. The nose is a grape/blackberry type sweet fruitiness, which is repeated in the palate along with some citrus, grassy and creamy notes with just a touch of smoke. The finish is nice with some spice showing up late. Punches well above its price point, if value was reflected in the score would definitely rate five stars. You have to love the effort, bottling this at 50% ABV, when most blends at this price are 40 or 43%. Brings some excitement back to mid level blends. Well done!

Sweet caramel, vanilla with some nice barrel spice on the end. A nice finish, the wood stays with you. Very good, goes down smoothly and a great bourbon for the money.

Nothing too exciting on the nose mostly spice, it gets better on the palate. Sweetness hits you first, then some creamy vanilla or butterscotch type notes with a little fruit. Spice comes in at the end and stays for the shortish finish. Nice and dangerously smooth.

A little fruit, sweetness and a tiny bit of spice. Quite smooth, very drinkable if only a little muted. Solid.

Sweet, fruity with bread like notes. Some beer/hoppy notes on the finish. Very smooth. Nice.

I’m definitely getting a lot of banana notes to go along with a decent amount of oak. Sweet, easy drinking with vanilla emerging on the finish. Solid if a little overpriced.

Very smooth. I’m getting some grass, sweetness and a lot of melon notes. Light yet still full of flavor. Nice.

Not so sweet but a lot of oak, a little vanilla and plenty of fruity (black cherry?) notes. Intense and flavorful with a good finish. $20 for a handle about as good a value as can be had. Nice.

As a fan of Beam this was a given I would enjoy it. Fantastic nose and palate, typical bourbon notes done very well: sweet caramel, butterscotch, tons of vanilla and a little nutmeg like spice. A great finish on a very nice, easy drinking whiskey. Possibly one of the best values out there.

Smoke is predominant, fruity notes are the runner up, sweetness is a distant third. The smoke stays with you on the finish. Very smooth and easy to drink, a top quality blend. I will be buying again.
