I’ve been wanting to try this for a couple of years, it far exceeded my somewhat high expectations. The nose is a grape/blackberry type sweet fruitiness, which is repeated in the palate along with some citrus, grassy and creamy notes with just a touch of smoke. The finish is nice with some spice showing up late. Punches well above its price point, if value was reflected in the score would definitely rate five stars. You have to love the effort, bottling this at 50% ABV, when most blends at this price are 40 or 43%. Brings some excitement back to mid level blends. Well done!

Ezra Brooks 90 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 11, 2021 (edited January 14, 2021)Not so sweet but a lot of oak, a little vanilla and plenty of fruity (black cherry?) notes. Intense and flavorful with a good finish. $20 for a handle about as good a value as can be had. Nice. -
Compass Box Great King St Glasgow Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed December 31, 2020 (edited October 14, 2021)Smoke is predominant, fruity notes are the runner up, sweetness is a distant third. The smoke stays with you on the finish. Very smooth and easy to drink, a top quality blend. I will be buying again.
