Speyburn 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 16, 2021 (edited February 12, 2021)Very smooth. I’m getting some grass, sweetness and a lot of melon notes. Light yet still full of flavor. Nice. -
Ezra Brooks 90 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 11, 2021 (edited January 14, 2021)Not so sweet but a lot of oak, a little vanilla and plenty of fruity (black cherry?) notes. Intense and flavorful with a good finish. $20 for a handle about as good a value as can be had. Nice. -
Compass Box Great King St Glasgow Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed December 31, 2020 (edited October 14, 2021)Smoke is predominant, fruity notes are the runner up, sweetness is a distant third. The smoke stays with you on the finish. Very smooth and easy to drink, a top quality blend. I will be buying again. -
Obviously smoke, lots of smoke. Smoky and medicinal on the nose. Smoky, sweet and a little fruit in the mouth. Water brings out more fruit on the palate. Don’t be afraid of the ABV, it is very drinkable. Worth buying for the amazing finish-you will be tasting this whisky minutes after drinking it. Great.
