Third tasting for the reasons I gave in tasting 2 i prefer this much more than the good expression from Reina. I want to get a full bottle of this!

Lime and jalapeño notes. A bit thinner in the mouthfeel than I would like. Interesting flavor. Very subdued agave sweetness, more minerality.

Unbelievable. Comparing to the excellent but simple Del Maguey Barril expression. This is more complex flavor wise and much more viscous. More metal and earth notes here and the agave finish, also present in the Del Maguey, is sweeter and more fruity here. The best Maguey Melate expression I’ve tried (of the 20 others) besides Reina Sanchez’s Tepextate which ties with this. That’s more at the fruity end. This is more masculine.

Fuckin love this. Don’t know if it’s the agave type or clay pot distillation that gives it that distinctive earth note but I just love it. Not much else going on, simple dram this one, but an excellent palette.

Anise, minerality, earthy with mouth coating viscosity. Hint of agave in the finish. Decent. Bbq meat as well. Could grow to love this on subsequent tastings. Sort of like if Argbeg made a mezcal, lots of complexity and punch here and interesting, pleasant masculine flavors

Interesting complexity but not super tasty. Spicy pepper and light note of black pepper throughout. Some bell pepper in the front. Agave sweetness in the background but no fruits. Copper coin in the finish mingling with the spice. A bit dry, thin in the mouthfeel.
