This is one of the more unique expressions of whiskey I’ve tasted. I like this, but I also sense it isn’t everybody’s cup of corn. I get cinnamon and butterscotch up front, some apple and generally more sweet than I expected. The finish is long and satisfying. I look forward to each annual ‘chapter’ of this special offering from Booker.65.0 USD per Bottle

Beautifully smoky and charred at first nose, then damp wood. Taste is bright and slightly acidic with clear citrus – lemon, orange – profile. Finish is long with a little mint or cinnamon. Of all the Del Maguey mezcals, this is my personal favorite. Para todo Mezcal, Y todo bien tambien. For everything bad, Mezcal, and to celebrate all good as well.

Had the chance to talk with a Kentucky Owl rep. From my notes it’s a blend of four bourbons, aged six, eight, ten, and twelve years. Nicely balanced with some smoke and vanilla. Layers of flavor including cherry and anise/licorice? Some bready, maybe graham cracker. Long finish with a return of vanilla and cinnamon. I’d buy again.99.0 USD per Bottle

Sagamore Spirit Port Finish Rye (2019 Release)
Rye — Maryland, USA
Reviewed May 2, 2019 (edited June 18, 2019)The port is there, but in the background, lending a dark fruit note of date and raisin. Plenty of rye spice balanced with sweetness. I’m getting vanilla and brown bread. Nicely done.
