Lovely LOVELY. I would get this whisky pregnant if I could.

It's thin, has a smokey roll-over, a leafy finish and a sharp burn going down. But sometimes that's just fine. It might be the beautiful picture of the grouse on the label talking to me, but it'd be perfect in a flask, with a breach-load hanging over your arm, waiting for dinner to fly by. Better than similarly priced Black Bottle by miles in my opinion.

Sweet and smooooth. I dug this whisky bigtime. The bottle was a gift and I loved every sip but now I want to taste all the rest! Sweet, molasses without the burnt bits, mild burn going down and no alcohol taste at all. On the sweet side but not cloying. Not complex. More like a very smooth bourbon but no bite-back.

Great whisky for the price. Add an ice cube or soften with a splash of water and the maple syrup notes open up. Nice bright finish down the throat. I really, really like this for a sweeter Rye on it's own and it also makes a delicious Manhattan.
