Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed March 3, 2019Batch 20 - 56.65 ABV (113 proof) neat, no water. I really enjoyed this. I got a lot of banana and clove on the nose, this was spicy and a little hot, but not overbearing. I thought the oak was dominant on a pretty long changing finish. Nicely done, would probably seek this out again.65.0 USD per Bottle -
Parker's Heritage Barrel Finished in Orange Curaçao Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 11, 2019Out the gate this has some serious heat and alcohol burn, give it an ice cube and 5-10 mins and you'd think it's 80 proof. So damn smooth and orangey with a woody finish and I am a huge fan. You can tell it's viscous but it resists coating your mouth. Doesn't taste as young as it is.100.0 USD per Bottle -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 9, 2019 (edited February 16, 2019)Batch C917 - After multiple bottles of this, it can have a range of taste depending on the amount of time/air the bottle has gotten. Can range from burn your entire digestive tract, to a hot oily brown sugar dark fruit with alcohol burn gem, to a full on brown sugar butterscotch smooth slick oily treat. At any stage, this is one of my favorites. Its uniqueness and consistency of quality are what keep this on the shelf at all time, no matter how hot this can get.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 25, 2019 (edited February 7, 2019)Plum, brown sugar, leather, rye spice. Pretty well balanced and full at the price point, not as woody as I would expect a 10 year bourbon to be. At this price point, I prefer EHT small batch, straight or for old fashions or manhattans. Eagle rare is a bit less balanced, but I think offers a bit more.40.0 USD per Bottle -
