Vanilla and intense big red baking spices. I added a bit of water to open this up, and it toned down the spiciness and amped up some of the vanilla. I thought this was well worth $65+ tax, but also really liked last year if that is any indicator of you’ll enjoy it. Pretty viscous and oily, it’s great for the price and about what I expected with this series.

GNS Store Pick: This is some great stuff. Super approachable, dangerously drinkable. Lots of green apple, it’s like a slice of apple pie with brown sugar crumble on top, caramel, so good. Worth it considering the age statement(4.5 yrs, so young for the quality). Should be noted, this is not 48.3%, this pick is 55%, 110 proof.

I was not a fan, having had this side by side with other comparably priced whiskey, it lacks depth, which is reasonable given its age. I really wanted to like this given it is local, but I just could not find any redeeming qualities, especially in a crowded market at the $50 price range. This should be $25 max., and I feel silly having had paid $20 a year(I believe this is about 2.5 years old)

I see exactly what everyone means when they say with some age this will be something special. Tons of vanilla and smooth for a barrel proof bourbon, short spicy finish. A bit simple and could use some depth and complexity with some age, but I’m a fan and this is an easy sipper/crowd pleaser for sure.

I enjoyed this. Very unique. Spicy rye and bubblegum, sweet, approachable. A bit of ethanol on the finish.

Act 6 Scene 6: This is a good pour for sure. Port sweetness with brown sugar come over immediately, smooth. Followed by a spicy rye finish with leather and a bit of spicy mint. Some stone fruit on a long spicy finish, this is a delicious pour.

Came back to this bottle after the first pour, and I’ve changed my mind. This is pretty damn good. Smells of candied grape. Tastes fruity, then leather with a little spice. Very good
