Tastes

Nose: honey, sherry, dried fruits Palate: very smooth mix of peat, smoke, hits of fruit, light leather, and some baking spices Finish: spicy finish with nice lingering peat notes and some Carmel. Very smooth overall with an unexpected spicy ending.

Nose: wheat thins and some slight baking spices Palate: very light and smooth; wheat and grain cereals with a bit of vanilla. Quick finish with almost no burn. Very easy choice for a nightcap or entry level whiskey.

Nose: Stronger rye smell than other bottles, pepper, and some floral notes. Palate: Spicy at the onset, leather, pepper, rye, light on mouth feel and medium body flavor. Finish is short with some lingering heat. Simple and light overall, probably would make a great Old Fashioned.

Store pick: Total Wine in Denver,CO Nose: leather, oak, small hit of smoke, green banana Palate: Spicy, earthy tones, stale biscuit, get some citrus and grain flavor. Finishes long with heat and tobacco. Read this is discontinued in 2020, being replaced with Barrel Strength options.

Nose: warm spices, vanilla, sweet fruit aromas Palate: very smooth mix of baking spices, fruit, and a whole mouth flavor, little bit spicy on first sip. Overall very good, paired well with steaks.

Nose: simple with smells of orange and some vanilla. Palate: smooth with a little spice, medium flavors, easy to drink. Smokey finish.

Palate: Waxy, full body flavor with plenty of spice. Subtle hit of peat, mild fruit/herbs, with an aftertaste of tobacco (to me). Good flavor, but not something I’m going to chase down too often.

Nose: Fruity with hits of vanilla, orange, oak, and some citrus. Palate: Buttery smooth, with a subtle fruit and earthy flavor, followed by a cinnamon/ginger after taste that lingers for a bit. Excellent from start to finish and the bottle takes some restraint from wanting to drink your way through it in a sitting.

Relatively generic flavor with a bland-ish mix of earthy tones and some subtle fruit. It has a Speyside light flavor, with no real distinct flavor. Not bad by any stretch, but not memorable either.
