Tastes

Neat. Hit me better this time. Maybe I was in a spicy mood. Licorice, red hot, and hints of fruits in the back of the nose. Can get the vanilla on a deep breath. Creamy mouth feel. That cinnamon spice heat hits you immediately. Long legs. There is a three course meal sitting behind this. Either I adapted or this bottle opened up.

Neat. The more I drink bourbon the less I like this as a sipper. Nose of mostly leather notes, not much else there. Taste is initially sweet but fades to spice and cinnamon. No legs. Meh.

Neat. A nice caramel and oak forward nose with a little heat and hint of spice. Moderately oily mouth. First sip was a blast of spice with lingering vanilla and cherries. Decent legs. Very solid all around.

Neat. Nose is interesting. Get more fruit on the nose than typical bourbon flavors. Caramel comes out when I bury deep. Hint of spice in the background. Woah. This one is a spicy journey. Initial taste is creamy with sugars on the tongue. Taste hits the back of a throat with a hurricane of spice. Long diverse legs. Makes me think of a carrot cake with vanilla frosting once the overwhelming spice subsides. Spend time with this one. It tells a story worth patience and savoring.

A few drops. Drops really open up the nose on this. The caramels and baking spice really shine through. Could spend a while just enjoying the nose. Smooth mouth feel but drops took away the creamy texture. The drops made it extremely easy drinking. Hits you with a blast of vanilla but nullified the heat and legs.

Neat. Warehouse A. Barrel 443. Fantastic nose. Sweet with heat. Vanilla. Hint of nutmeg. Cream and berries. Interesting mouth fill. Initially creamy but thins out almost like it melts. Taste is vanilla ice cream with a hint of lemon and then mint. Longer legs than expected. Butterscotch to end. Solid journey on that one.

Neat. Party Source 4 Single Barrel. The sweetness of this bourbon is over the top. I enjoy this store pick a tad more. In your face nose, caramel, vanilla, Oak and a hint of cherry. Texture is super creamy and the sugars hit your tongue immediately. Almost like a syrup. Sweetness reigns but there is a little hidden spice in the heat. Heavy caramels. Lacks legs. It would be my perfect bourbon if there was something to chew on for bit. Fades pretty quick.

Neat. No stand out qualities. Mostly dark notes on the taste.

Neat. Light bodied and a little bitter on the tongue. Dark notes like chocolate.

Neat. Cherries and honey on the nose. Mild rye. Medium mouth feel. Spice hits first but gives way to buttery sensations with sweetness and then earthy tones. Minty. The layers are different than other Ryes. The buttery nature lingers with long legs. The nose and taste are quite different.
