Tastes

Neat. Careful burying your nose in this high proof. Lots of rye, cinnamon, nutmeg and hint of mint on the nose. The more I smell I get hints of pie crust and pastries. Medium mouth feel and that spice hits the tongue immediately and then transitions to mostly sweetness. The taste punches you in the face. Lots of lingering vanilla. Really good legs but lots of tingle and numbing too.

Neat. Nose hits you with more alcohol than expected considering the proof. Sweet notes on the nose. Sugar cane with a hint of plum. Texture is creamy and sets off sweetness immediately. Sweetness dominates the taste. Almost like a childhood cereal. Maybe Fruity Pebbles. Candies. Never described a bourbon taste as “childhood” before but there is something about the sweetness in the after taste that takes me back. Took a bit to open up and win me over.

Neat. Nose is straight vanilla, caramel and smooth for a 100+ proof. Sweet dominates the nose. Texture is mid level oil. Initial taste is mostly pepper and spice. With each sip, the spice and nutmeg gives way to increasing layers of sweetness. Favorite part of this brbon is the legs. It is like having a hard caramel, butterscotch in your mouth and can last for minutes. Enjoyed it considerably but may be less tempted to order it again at the high price.

Delicious. The high proof can hit the nose when not careful. Nose is caramel, sweet with a hint of the spice to come. The taste hits the tongue immediately. One of my favorite aspects. So often the taste doesn’t hit until the back of the mouth. This hits with delicious notes immediately. Creamy mouth. Vanilla and spice finish. Oh so good.

This is a dessert and treat. Nose is sweet candy corn, cinnamon. Texture is creamy. Taste is cinnamon roll with a kick. Unlike anything else.

If the salt is just a marketing gimmick, it is genius. I continue to get it on the nose and taste. Outside of the salt, I get sweet corn on the nose. Delicate flavors. On the taste, the vanilla gives way to spice. The spice has decent legs. Those salt sensations are this bourbons unique aspects.

That is legit. Deep caramel and vanilla notes with a hint of mint. The feel is a little less creamy than I was expected. The initial taste had a surprising bitterness which makes the punch of sweet flavors all the more prominent. Candy corn just punches me in the face and it lingers for so long. This is delicious.

A great approachable sipper. Neat. Nose is sweet and floral. I can bury my nose in this for awhile. The texture is so creamy and delightful. The taste is surrounded by sweet chocolate and ends with vanilla and hints of spice. After taste lingers with more vanilla. Enjoyed this very much.

Neat. One of my favorite noses on any bourbon. Sweet like candy. I like the nose more than the taste. The taste is smooth but understated. Sweetness reigns with a hint of smoke. Zero legs and no after taste.
