Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 26, 2020 (edited October 31, 2020)Beautiful copper color. Floral nose with nothing highlighted. Burns on the tip of the tongue. Weirdly smooth without any real taste. It does burn both during the sip and long after. Definitely not with the more money charged than the lesser MacAllan. -
Macallan Double Cask 12 Year
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed October 14, 2020 (edited December 14, 2020)Nice reddish yellow color. Amber I guess. Sweet pleasant nose. On the second tasting I had a slight coughing fit. Don’t think it was related to the scotch cause the scotch is remarkable. But thought I would mention it for full disclosure purposes. There is a slight burning on the tongue, bottom lip and throat after the swallow but the taste is impeccable. Nothing antiseptic about it. Tastes of Vanilla and caramel abound. Other joyous flavors I cannot immediately place. This scotch is heavenly divine with just a touch of the devil due to the mild afterburn.62.0 USD per Bottle -
Almost a reddish amber color which is inconsistent throughout the glass. One side is paler than the other. Very antiseptic nose. Maybe a peak of vanilla smell trying to break out of the antiseptic. Stingy on the tongue. Mostly towards the back. A bit of almond taste. Harsh afterburn and lips and tongue starting to tingle. Definitely not one of my favorite scotches.30.0 USD per Bottle

Color very very pale. But in my glass it is actually much darker. Maybe the angles of the bottle change the lighting like a diamond. Bottle is so unique. I know that shouldn’t really matter in a tasting but I love it. There is a Carmel flavor on the nose and It is very Carmel tasting. Very smooth. No After burn. Vanilla flavor. Might be my favorite tasting so far.43.19 USD per Bottle
