Mortlach 21 Year Distillery Labels (Gordon & MacPhail)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 19, 2018I can appreciate this for being a scotch with interest but this is not what I am accustomed to from Speysides or scotches in this age range for that matter. There are very little notes to express but you can note the smoke through the whole experience, other than that it is simply a salty sherry palate. If you get a chance to taste it you should but I wouldn't purchase this bottle. -
I found this Dalmore to be a step aside from the bulk of the Dalmore range. There are citrus notes but more prevalent are the rich and dark flavours, I personally noted Dark Chocolate and Coffee with a touch of Cinnamon. For me the citrus notes were more a part of the aroma and finish and expressed as more an apricot than anything else. Overall, I enjoyed it and believe it is worth the try!
