Tastes

Had it in a bar in Des Moines. Had never heard of it and was pleasantly surprised. Was a big hit with me and my whiskey loving dinner guests. Yes it’s sweet, but has some fruit notes, mostly pear, to go with the toast, honey notes. Not as one note as I expected. Looking to add it to my bottle collection.

Hard to describe it. Smoky, smooth, not as sweet as expected, a little pear flavor.

I have never had a scotch I like. The nose is light, sweet and hints at bourbon. Never would have guessed scotch from the nose. Taste I can tell it’s scotch and it’s the best scotch I’ve ever had, but still not bourbon. May be my first scotch bottle I buy.

Smooth and harsh at the same on the first sip. Second and after everything it’s described. My wife loves it and is not a bourbon drinker.

Wow! Had Weller 12 last night while putting together kids presents. I dare say I like this better than the weller black. 110 proof according to the bottle. Would never guess it. Smooth, vanilla, a bit of warm toast, caramel, little spice and did I say smooth. Thanks to my wife!
