Virginia Distillery Co. Cider Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky
Blended Malt — Multiple Countries
Reviewed December 1, 2023I didn’t car for the nose much at all. It brought to mind the manicure salons in shopping malls, very strong chemical smell. Taste is better, lots of fruit, specifically tart apple peels, but its well hidden behind a very astringent, burnt toast flavor that is an aquired taste. I cant decide if it spent too long in the barrel or not long enough. Very different than most of the whiskey on the shelf and thats a refreshing change!5.0 USD per ShotVirginia ABC -
Compass Box Artist Blend
Blended — Scotland , Scotland
Reviewed November 28, 2023 (edited June 15, 2024)This is a very approachable blended scotch for new comers. It has enough going on that you can taste several different flavors, evolves with a splash of water and again with ice. Also serves as an affordable mixer.29.99 USD per BottleOne Stop WInes & Spirits North Roan -
I enjoy this one. Its very simple but sometimes thats all you need. Give a few minutes to breath and the apple pie will sneak up and surprise you. Once you smell/taste that its the predominant flavor and really enjoyable. I would love a barrell proof of this one, or maybe one with a few more years on it.42.0 USD per BottleOne Stop Wines & Spirits

Glendalough Double Barrel Single Grain
Single Grain — Ireland
Reviewed July 6, 2022 (edited January 13, 2023)I thought I smelled rubbing alcohol and silicone lightly in the nose. First taste confirmed the silicone, it’s reminiscent of a soft fishing lure. Some iodine, rubber, bandaid. It’s not really bad but it’s not super enjoyable either. I plan to use in an old fashioned from here out.26.0 USD per BottleLibation Station -
