Glenmorangie Signet
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 8, 2017 (edited March 28, 2019)Very fruity. Some butterscotch and spiciness coming through. Plums, dates, raisins. Some woodiness and the palate. Dry, spicy. Got some prunes hanging out by my cheekbones. Quite woody on the finish aswell. Grainy, nice and spicy. Very mouthwatering! Very nice. -
Strong alcohol on the nose. Some rhubarb, red apples. Very sweet. The something more in the back, can't quite put my finger on it. More complex than I expected it to be. Quite tart on the palate. Again with the alcohol and rhubarb. There some caramel and vanilla there for sure. Quite spicy. Medium, grassy finish.

Oranges, almonds. Sweet and fresh citrus fruits. Like a coffee lemonade. Some Mizunara coming through on the nose. Very sweet and vibrant on the palate. Got loads of candied fruits and quite strong acidity. Some vanilla way in the back. Very spicy finish. Some nutiness, orange peel. Strong taste of Mizunara. Quite long as well. Excellent!

Tang. Salty with huge smoke, but the fruity caramel can't hide even if it wants to. Cured meat and fresh, unripe pears in the back. The woodiness comes out with a drop of water. Huge smoke on the palate, kinda tart aswell with hints of ashes and black pepper. Hot the sweetness to balance it out. Quite oily but dry at the same time, grainy in a way. Kicking finish, goes on for quite while. First sweetness, then smoke and pepper. Turns into hay and smoked fish. Keeps on developing for miles.

Plums, apricots. Green apple deturgent. Very delicate notes of peat in the back. Palate has notes of black pepper, leather, some sweetness; dried fruits and peat smoke. Medium woody finish, slight bitter note. Give it a drop of water to entice some more vanilla and caramel out of this perfect workhorse dram.
