Wild Turkey Bourbon 101
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 22, 2018 (edited September 9, 2019)Great daily sipper. Very smooth for a 100+ proof. A little spice on the palate but otherwise lots of butterscotch, honey, oak, tea, fruit on the nose, some bite on the finish but overall a value sipper. Many flavors pop in this bourbon, some say due to the lower proof it goes into the barrel at, leaving only slight down-proofing before bottling. -

Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 22, 2018 (edited February 6, 2019)Three pours several weeks apart and either I have an off bottle or McKenna 10 is just not rising for me. It has some complexity but everything is muted. Definitely no more than a $30 bottle. But I wouldn’t buy more if this bottle is the standard.30.0 USD per BottleEvergreen Liquors -
This was a store pick from Cox’s Spirit Shoppe, Louisville, 2018. Barrel #3085, Rickhouse O, Floor 5 Nose: orange, spices, corn, leather Palate: baking spices Finish: medium, quite smooth for a 110 proof, more spices maybe cinnamon I actually like 101 more overall (4*) but this is an interesting branch of the WT family.

Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 18, 2018 (edited December 19, 2018)Best of the Old Forester/Woodford offerings. Vanilla, honey, butterscotch and sweet oak on the nose. A little spice and brown sugar on the palate, and for a non-wheated bourbon it’s sweet and smooth on the finish. If Weller 12 and Woodford double oaked had a baby, this is it.54.0 USD per BottleLiquor Barn
