Tastes

Very strong floral and vanilla tones on the nose with a subtle hint of dried apricots. Slightly oily texture on the palate with an explosion of Creme Brulee and orange peel-Marmalade. A slight hint of spearmint at the end. A pleasantly surprising drawn out finish escalating the creamy vanilla, sweet custard with a dash of spicy cinnamon to finish. An amazing dram. One of my all time favourites.

I thought Octomore 7.1 was my one and true love. Ardbeg is my favourite distillery... and this one blows all of my faves out of the water: 1. Supernova. 2. Corryvreckan. 3. 10 y.o. 4. Uigedail. 5. An Oa. I will continue to hunt for Ardbeg Supernova 2009. But this. Is my epitome for now.

Creamy, vanilla sweet nose. Dried figs and apple on the palate, progressing to a spiced cinnamon finish.

A journey. Very citrus-orange peel/floral on the nose. A huge hit of smokey/peat, bridled by the taste of cloves. An extended long finish, peaty but not over the top. Strong.

Only got this because they ran out of Redbreast at Gold Class. Strong dried fruits and sherry on the nose. Proceeded to a rich chocolatey palate with ripe cherries. Spiced finish. Not my dram.

Gifted as a K.K present - thanks again! Nose: Strong briney salt and smoke with subtle hints of hard-boiled lemon candy and vanilla. A little peppery at the end. Palate: The smoke and peat intensifies. The sweetness of the vanilla progresses to more of a buttery Wether's Original lolly. Finish: Long but subtle - not a peat punch in the face but a sweet toffee-esque heartwarming after taste. An easy drinker.

Nose: Black Forest Cake - Dark Chocolates with Cherries. Palate: Intense dried fruits (currants) with Apple Pie. Slight smokey spice - only a hint. Finish: Abrupt spiced oakey finish. Surprisingly lingers in the chest.

Zesty lemon and orange on the nose. Progresses rapidly to a crescendo of intense fruity sweetness with supporting spices. A more dark berry end to the palate with that strong red wine finish. Might just eclipse the Starward Nova re: wine cask finish.
