Weller Antique 107 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 10, 2020 (edited December 23, 2020)Great stuff!! I have this as a tie between this and the reserve. This is a little hotter but longer finish. It’s essentially the same just closer to barrel proof. -
Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 10, 2020 (edited September 24, 2020)My go to bourbons if I can find it. I taste apples and cherries and a very slight wood and leather. Extremely smooth, almost like drinking a perfectly balanced juice. Sweeeeeet nectar, love this stuff! -
Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 10, 2020 (edited May 25, 2021)I love me some McKenna! This stuff is very Woody but extremely balanced with all the bourbon characters one looks for. I taste heavy oak, faint bubble gum, leather, cherrys, apples, and nutmeg. I also taste a beautiful floral note similar to what I get on four roses and it just takes my tongue for a ride like I’m zipping through Route 66 after escaping from my mother in-laws soup party. Hard whiskey to beat right here, especially for the price as I got for 39 dollars and I won’t tell you where. Cheers 🥃 -
Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage 3
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed January 10, 2020 (edited September 24, 2020)Delightful flavor on my pallet. The flavor actually reminded me of Elmer T Lee. Light and smooth yet 90 proof and a lengthy finish. Been wanting to try this one for a while, didn’t Disappoint -
John J Bowman Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Virginia, USA
Reviewed January 10, 2020 (edited December 11, 2020)I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle. It reminded me of Eh Taylor but smoother. It has a nice dry wood and pitted fruit notes. Lots of cherry and red apples. It’s just magnificent and is really hard not to continue to sip on this. I can definitely tell of the BT nuances. The copper distilling process must smooth this stuff out just a touch I feel the reviewer on this must have gotten a bad bottle because this would be at least a 91/100 in my book. Cheers 🥃 -
Whistlepig 10 Year Straight Rye Barrel Strength
Rye — (bottled in) Vermont, Canada
Reviewed January 10, 2020Got a bottle for poppa for his birthday and he wasn’t impressed. He let me have it back and I’m aging it in my oak barrel to ease the bite. I’m not all that impressed either. Lots of burn and not great flavors, at least to my pallet. I tried the boss hog a few years ago and it blew me away so I assumed this would be up there with it, I assumed wrong. -
Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 29, 2018 (edited December 23, 2020)One of my favorite sippers now a days. The single barrel use to be my go-to but this is has topped the list. Nothing too crazy but very easy sipping -
Russell's Reserve 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 2, 2018 (edited June 21, 2022)This bourbon reminds me a lot of eagle rare 10 year. It all comes down to what you like in a bourbon. If you like a lighter, very smooth bourbon with a nice long finish this is for you. If you like a full body bourbon this isn't for you. I generally think that the top distillers look for this type of bourbon, wellers have a similar flavor profile. Light, sweet, oak, dark cherry flavored. Solid bourbon for the buck
