Bruichladdich Islay Barley Rockside Farm 2007
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland

Bought this on sale at my liquor store and went back to bug another after having it. Nose: floral, light fruit and pears galore on this one. Palat: the Pears really shine through on this on. Maybe some green apple, grass or hay or peaches. There is defenatly that barley character you get from typical Irish pot still but not to the same degree. I think the sweetness is mostly from the rum barrel. Finish: as wil a majority of Irish whiskers that have been triple distilled the finish is a bit short but I'm ok with that. The sweetness stays for a min then quickly faded to some oak before going away. Have to keep sipping to get the memory of the finish in my head. Overall great whiskey not sure if pay full price of 40$ but at 25 or 30 I'd pick it up again. Great neat and only needs a little bit of water if that's your thing. Have tried it with ice but I suspect it would bring out misty the fruit flavored
