Four Roses Yellow Label Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 1, 2019 (edited February 13, 2019)This is a young, light bourbon. But dont confuse that with a lack flavor (dont think this is a flavor bomb either). It has your typical bourbon flavors, nothing surprising there. Think of how Bud Lite is to Budweiser. You get a hint of the bold stuff. I'd always keep it around. This is one that I can say does make a great mixer for me.18.0 USD per BottleMansfield -
Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 1, 2019 (edited January 31, 2019)My favorite bourbon at this point in time. Sugary vanilla happiness describes both the nose and taste here. The 10 year age definitely shows here with no harshness anywhere. Caramel shows up from time to time. I recommend letting the glass sit out for sometime after finishing the bourbon, and then take a big whiff of the glass. The most amazing aroma of sugary baked goods with molasses. Worth every cent.45.0 USD per BottleMansfield -
This is my first Japanese whisky....and not my last! If I had to pick a word to describe this it would be "glasslike" Its so smooth, inoffensive, and tasty that it just slides right down. Floral (which I love pairing with a floral Dominican cigar) notes are found from the beginning to end in both scent and flavor. I'm a big floral and sweetness kind of guy, so this is right up my alley. I get a lot of honey on the nose with some tart apples on the sides of my tongue. One con.....no cork? Come ooooooooon man!40.0 USD per BottleMansfield

The best blended scotch I've ever had. Sweetness on the nose right up front. Some say bananas but I get a marzipan or something similar. Nothing offensive on the nose or tongue at all. Taste wise it is very smooth, even more so when price is factored in, with a little spice to even out the sweetness of dark, maybe overipe?, fruits. For $30, this is a no brainer.30.0 USD per BottleMansfield

As I said in my Red review, I found this to have less smoke flavor and scent than the Red. What smoke (which there is quite a bit) I do find is much more enjoyable than the Red. More.....tamed if you will. Theres a background sweetness that likes to show up from time to time with some oaky vanilla in there. Overall its something I think everyone should have in their collection. When the general populace hear scotch, they think Johnny Walker.35.0 USD per BottleMansfield

Yes, this was made to be a mixer. I have tried it straight (awful), mixed with coke (gross), and other various ways. The only way I "like" it is 1 dram with 8-12oz of seltzer water. For some reason this tastes more smokey than the Black to me, other friends have said the opposite. Not much else going on, no sweetness on the taste (little nose), some uncharred oak, and smoke. That's it. I'd rather have a bottle of Clan McGregor as a mixer. FYI: This was a Christmas exchange gift.1.0 USD per BottleMansfield

Speyburn Bradan Orach
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 1, 2019 (edited April 15, 2019)One of my favorite sub $30 bottles of anything. Sweet, somewhat floral, apples, pears. Does have a somewhat strong ethanol smell but does dissipate with rest. I know this has had low ratings but for me, it hits the spot for a cheap bottle.22.0 USD per BottleMansfield
