Reviewed September 11, 2017 (edited June 9, 2018)Vanilla, orchard fruit, apricot, new wood and hint of smoke on the nose. Fairly warm and robust mouthful, with strawberries, molasses, and licorice on the palate. Long and dry finish. Full-bodied and a very good dram overall. -
Ledaig 18 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed September 11, 2017 (edited November 4, 2017)Rubber, smoke, leather, and some dried apricot on the nose. Medium body, with pungent taste of rancid grain and boiled veggies on the palate. Licorice aftertaste on warm and relatively long finish. Complex, but too medicinal for my liking. -
Floral, lightly citric, but mostly ethanol on the nose. Anaesthesizing mouthful following suit. Woodsy character on the palate, with hints of orchard fruit and bananas barely coming through. Warm, short and spicy finish with an unforgivable bitter aftertaste. Pretty bad, if not short of catastrophic. This barely gets 2 stars.

Light bouquet of vanilla, honey and floral notes on the nose. The body, however, is fairly robust and features a balanced combination of shortbread, nutmeg, and faint notes of licorice on the palate. The finish is sweet and of medium-length. Tasty stuff and an absolute bargain if you can get your hands on a bottle ($40 USD)
