Glenfiddich 15 Year Distillery Edition
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed July 26, 2017 (edited October 4, 2017)Apples, honey and some floral notes on the nose. Warm and sweet mouthful with more orchard fruit, hints of melon and slightly bitter oak tanins on the palate. The finish is fairly dry and of considerable length. Not bad when tried neat, but much better with a few drops of water. -
Knappogue Castle 16 Year Sherry Cask Finished
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed July 26, 2017 (edited March 9, 2018)Light scent of dried fruit and chocolate milk on the nose, followed by an overwhelming hit of lumberwood on the palate. There are faint notes of papaya fruit halfway through, but otherwise an oak-heavy, and considerably bitter finish. Pretty bad. -
Suprisingly light nose, with some floral notes and sherry coming through. Full and warm mouthful, with malted cereal, dried fruit and baking spice on the palate. The finish is long and peppery, with a slight bitter aftertaste of cocoa nibs. Overall an oak-heavy and unbalanced dram. Quite disappointing.

Light peat smoke, old furniture oak and clementine rind on the nose. Warm and oily mouthful. Orange, candied fruit, and slight herbal note (chamomille) on the palate. Light oak spice and ash on fairly long finish. Yet another great expression from J. & A. Mitchell and beautiful representation of the Campbeltown whisky region. Love it.

Armorik Sherry Finish Single Malt
Single Malt — Brittany , France
Reviewed July 21, 2017 (edited July 22, 2017)This charming dram greets you with a beautiful combination of apricots, leather, tobacco and sherry on the nose. The palate is a gentle medley of raisins, walnuts, roasted coffee and hint of citrus. The finish is long, warm and features a certain je-ne-sais-quoi from the oak spice. Overall, a fragrant, complex and delicious dram. Merci et bravo! -
