my first malt. the nose is very offputting when compaired to a bourbon. the palate is heavy vanilla and does not 1:1 with the nose. i enjoy the burn and palate, but the nose does squander my abilty to enjoy this to the fullest

its a good proof for the toasted barrel strength bottle. I found notes of honey and vanilla with a smokey finish. I do not think its my favorite penelope, but it was less sweet and fruity than my other picks. I did like this bourbon. Second taste: great flavor for a toasted. choice flavor

a lot of the flavor is masked with sugar. its got some shining notes with vanilla, corn, and cane sugar. i wouldnt choose to drink it straight. very sugary

caramel and vanilla. mid spice. less bite. interesting finish. but great for the price and an easy sipper for sure
