Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 13, 2021 (edited September 21, 2021)It’s a 4/5 for the taste but gets a 4.5 when you factor in the price. I don’t think there is a bourbon that comes close to this when it comes to value. -
John Walker & Sons Celebratory Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed April 26, 2021 (edited December 30, 2021)I’m honestly not a fan of JW, but wow I really love this. Very floral and fruity. The higher abv makes it even more so. It’s like all of the yum you get with a nice px, port or sherry cask but none of the over powering sweetness. Could sip on this for many years to come. Very sad it’s a limited one time release. Would take one of these over any JW I’ve had including blue, without a doubt. -
Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye (2020 Release)
Canadian — Alberta, Canada
Reviewed April 17, 2021 (edited April 21, 2022)Have never even really fan of rye but got a few of these and it’s turned me into one. The flavours you get are beautiful. You’d never guess it’s this high of a proof either. -
Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 17, 2021 (edited May 11, 2021)It’s a good time... nothing like the rather bland and watery base version of four roses. This is where their lineup starts in my books. -
Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 17, 2021 (edited April 26, 2021)One of my fav bottles for the price. God it’s good. Small batch is a darling too but this is worth the small premium for a bit better of everything in terms of flavour and proof. -
Tomatin 12 Year Bourbon & Sherry Casks
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 17, 2021 (edited November 4, 2022)I’m a sucker for this one, especially for the price. The balance of rich flavour and sweetness from the bourbon and sherry casks is spot on.
