Tastes

The taste reveals a proof higher than the bottle does. It burns above its paygrade. Theres not a single taste that stands out above the rest. Its a taste of its own and that’s okay with me. More butter than caramel and a note of orange that makes me wonder if i could use less Angostura when making an old fashioned or whiskey sour with this particular blend. Dare I say there’s some berries in there? Yes, yes I will!

Velvety smooth caramel taste with a burn that starts just after it coats your tongue and lasts until you’ve woken up the next morning. You’ll feel like you’re drinking it directly from the barrel. The fruit note is dark and ominous. It’s telling me not to have anymore because I’ll wake up regretting my decisions, but I’m not listening. Best drank next to a fireplace that was started with a remote control because you like a nice fire but you have a bottle of Stagg, so your house is too nice to be dragging wood in and out. I wish i could provide more tasting notes, but all I really know is that it tastes like good Bourbon, and i want more.

Smooth. The oak stays in your mouth after the glass is done with the feeling of char on it. Sweet with vanilla and caramel but bery subtle and not obvious at first. More of a spicy, fruity sweetness than a richness.

Smooth, light, slight burn at the end. Walnut like finish. Sweet but dostinct lack of caramel and very minor peaty flavour. This was first poor of the bottle.
