Wow. I'm getting so many flavors that I've never experienced in a whiskey before. The spice and any noticeable burn takes a backseat to a juicy, oily, almost vegetable like profile that's complimented with a nice sweetness. The palate is definitely floral, but not like any other floral whiskey notes I've experienced. I'm guessing the Anise is what I'm experiencing most with this one. That flavor passes with some time, but it's still dominant. After the pour opens up, I'm able to latch on to some of those more traditional rye notes. Overall, an incredibly unique pour that certainly is not going to be loved by everyone.

Weller Antique 107 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 6, 2016 (edited December 18, 2016)This is a solid bottle to keep on hand, especially considering the price point. The cinnamon is present along with dark fruit like cherries. The only thing holding it back for me is the medicinal quality in the finish that coats your mouth and lingers on the back of your tongue like a spoonful of cough syrup. 3.5/5 -
Mellow Corn Bottled in Bond Whiskey
Corn — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 13, 2016 (edited October 16, 2017)I definitely get the "liquid cornflakes" description. This one is sweet and a bit harsh served neat. Hell, for $3 at a bar in Austin, who can really complain? I could see myself buying a bottle of this for cheap mixers or parties. Overall, not bad for what it is, especially considering the price ($15 bottle in Texas).
