Tastes

To my palate it was silky smooth and rich with a very faint butterscotch flavor! To date one of the best whisky’s I’ve tasted!!

While I agree with the comment about this whisky being light, rather than disappointing I find it a nice change. It nice to sip a whisky without the heat (which I like). My wife doesn’t like whisky in pretty much any way but she did taste this and said it wasn’t horrible and she immediately picked up banana on the smell and taste. I noticed the last taste lingered and after about 10 minutes I got just the slightest aftertaste of licorice!

I’ve found lots of bourbon that I really like, Angels Envy, Blantons, Eagle Rare, but I found Russell’s 10 on sale the other day and I think it is taking over the leader board for my favorite! I tend to like a few ice cubes with my bourbon as I like how the flavors change as the ice melts but with the Russell’s 10 I’m close to drinking this neat it is so good! Everywhere around me it is selling for $40. I found it in one store, regular price, for $23 so I’ve gotten 12 bottles!

For a relatively young bourbon it sips extremely smoothly!

Smokey, lustrous on the palate!

This was the first bourbon I ever tasted way back when I was 18 and dated a bourbon drinker. I don’t think there was much else for choices back in the late 70’s. After drinking so many fine and wonderful bourbons it doesn’t measure up at all. All I get on the nose, taste and finish is oak!

Tried this for the first time and was wonderfully surprised. While it was very pleated it was milder that what I had expected. I have always liked the smell of a campfire on my clothing and this was all that and more. I thought it reminded me of having some extremely nice smoked salmon. I would drink this spirit again for sure!
