Tastes

Tart cherries, fig, stone fruit, cinnamon on the nose. Up front I’m getting baker’s chocolate, burnt walnuts, little bit of honey hidden in there. Backend, leather and ash. Overall, it’s a bit spicy for my taste. It’s complex and the port finishing really comes through.

Citrus and vanilla on the nose. On the taste I’m getting sweet honey, cigar, leather up front and a fair amount of (wet) oak and possibly some burnt caramel or toffee on the backend. All in all I can’t say it’s my favorite bottle under $100, and I’m not sure I can say it’s in my top 5. It’s a bit spicy up front even though it’s a lower ABV but becomes mellow pretty quick. To be honest, it seems a bit confused about what it wants to be.
