Full bodied in flavor and texture; chocolate and baking spices to start, brown sugar on the finish.

Sweet with prominent wheat notes, strong citrus on the finish. Would be great for an Old Fashioned.

Perfect balance of smoky and sweet without being overpowering. Similar in flavor profile to Talisker 10 but stepped up. A fresh bottle is definitely more smoke-forward but after it’s had a chance to mellow it develops into a rich and complex whisky. I think 11 years is a sweet spot for lagavulin - rounded at the edges but not muted like the 16. Nose: citrus, oak, peat Palate: brine, fresh fruits, smoke Finish: caramel, smoke, orange zest

Less peat than I was expecting but very smooth with vanilla notes that balance the peat well. Could be more complex, maybe a bit watered down at 40% abv.

Not usually a fan of flavored whiskeys but this is like drinking straight peanut butter - you’d never know there was any alcohol and it’s not too sweet.

Bready, sour fruit, caramel. Second bottle is much worse than the first I had a while ago. Lots of funk
