Not super complex, but light and citrusy. good for a summer drink

my favorite balvenie, which says a lot. the nose has all the balvenie honey and confection, but in comes the deep Sherry influence and speyside light peat and leather. a dose of water will open up some melon and lemongrass. taste development is lush with sweet giving way to a flood of Sherry and spices. finish is good for a 15 year and leaves light and sweet. fantastic

nose: apples, lemon, Earth, smoke. taste: medicinal iodine, earthy, lemon, clove, and cinnamon. would go around $25 less and you can get something comprable

Green fruit and vanilla in the nose, slight Ash. Creamy taste but sharp for the age. More vanilla and caramel in the taste and slight coal smoke, not much change with a little water. Nothing amazing but not bad at $40

Very classy dram, agree with the review that it's nothing mind blowing, but does what it does very well. It brings highland fruitiness with a mid range smokey bordering on leathery middle. Certainly worth roughly $50

nothing really stood out compared to the 12, in fact the 12 was more lively if you can believe it

on the nose, was a bit overwhelming without a couple of tablespoons of water. after that, it was a pleasant mixture of Earth, floral notes, and mild sweetness. some buttery notes are in the background and blend well with this non-islay peat. I miss the salt of islay here and honestly would get something close to this at almost half the price with bunnahabhain 12

needs to sit a bit and open up, but when it does ... nice. tropical and fruity, with a slight hint of toasted marshmallow.

honey and green fruits on the nose. butter and caramel in the taste. nice 48% abv so a little water opens up nicely

the nose is a nice Sherry, brine, and lemon. a bit of water adds floral notes that are heavy but nice. the taste is heavy peat smoke and Earth. the Sherry adds nice spice leather and sweetness. very good
