Tastes

Deceptively good. Color is rather light, legs appear thin. Nose is sweet. Then the taste is rye forward with hints of vanilla and corn. Nice burn that mellows with a melting bourbon rock. Good sipper.

Surprisingly drinkable for a high proof rye. Deep flavor of caramel and cinnamon with some vanilla and raisin undertones. Melting ice mellows the spice a bit. Really enjoy this rye.

Really good. Strong, but drinkable straight. Really opens up with a bit of water or melting ice. Discovered this bourbon two years ago, but forgot how good it was. Spicy up front, but some sweet citrus comes out before a long cinnamon finish.

I love everything about Jeptha Creed... except the bourbon. I love the story, the distillery setting, the bottle, the people, the other spirits (vodka, moonshine, brandy). The bourbon is meh. A bit too sweet, yet has a medicinal taste too.

Really enjoyed this bourbon. Well blended to offer some vanilla sweetness up front, but growing more complex with caramel and cinnamon coming through to a nice balanced finish. Smooth enough to sip, but spicy enough to satisfy and remind you its got a good rye build.

Decent, but nothing to set it apart. Vanilla and caramel up front. A bit of cinnamon spice on the finish, but didn’t last long.

Solid bourbon for the price. Good mixer. A bit sweet. Not overly complex, but it’s an entry level offering.
