I have to say, I went into this tasting with relativley low expectations. I’ve had the Tincup American Whiskey in the past, and wasn’t the biggest fan to say the least. This bourbon is very pleasant, especially for the price point. It’s 80 proof, so you can’t expect a ton, but overall, I was very impressed. I definitely wouldn’t shy away from buying this again.

Simply Beautiful. As I mostly stick to bourbon, Redbreast is a whiskey that I often find myself going back to. I have had many of their offerings, but this takes the cake. Its a complex and beautiful nose that is much more present than in other offerings. Rich dry fruits, such as plum and apricot, with a subtle hint of spice. No peat! Upon tasting, the true nature of this whiskey comes to light. The dried fruits are still very much at play, but there is a smooth, subtle custard element that comes into play with the backing of the higher proof. Smooth and velvety, yet strong and fortified. A refreshing retreated from the overly oaky and vanilla high proof bourbons. There is character here, and a lot of it.

Very thin and uninteresting. As I am a bug fan of BT products, this missed the mark. The nose is waxy, caramelly with slight hints if peanut. The taste is artificially sweet and incredibly thin. This one will sit on the shelf for a bit.

One of a kind. The Nose is an incredible and unique experience that will have you struggling to find the right words. Notes of cherry, apple strudel, rum, and ash. Fruit forward yet reminds me of my grandfathers tobacco pipe. The pallet is very approachable. Unique and complex without being over-proofed. Smooth vanilla up front with lingering complexity and spice on the back end will keep you going back for more. Keeping on par with the nose, you will notice a slight longering of smoke and ash. One of the more unique bottles I own. Fantastic value.

Rather harsh and ethanol forward which is to be expected of a higher proof, but still seems excessive. Fairly sweet and not overly smoky or charred. It’s a nice balanced flavor profile. Pretty straight forward and not overly complex.

Very shallow and thin profile. Slightly nutty up front. In summary; forgettable.
