Smells like vanilla rubbing alcohol. Once I get past the smell, it isn’t horrible, actually smoother than I would have thought. Very similar to crown royal but tons of vanilla, probably the strongest vanilla taste I have ever had in a whisk(e)y. At this price point though, it is really hard to complain.

Maybe it is a gimmick but I actually feel like it smelled like I was right next to the ocean. I definitely got the saltiness and was actually very impressed with this. After reading some of the reviews of previous batches, I had moved this one down on my list of things to try. I received a bottle as a gift and couldn’t be happier. To me, it was very reminiscent of Blanton’s. Sweet and oily with a slightly lighter amber color. Definitely get the vanilla and maybe a slight tobacco or leather, can’t quite put my finger on it. Overall, I would say it is delicious and I’m quite surprised it isn’t more popular.

Glenmorangie Signet
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 25, 2018 (edited March 28, 2019)I have been waiting to try this one for years and finally bit the bullet and splurged when overseas. I had worked myself up for this one so much that at first sip, I was a bit disappointed. However every sip after kept just getting better and better. I had only poured a small amount because I am savoring this bottle but every sip left me wanting more and more of it. I feel like I could have drank the whole bottle in one sitting. Bronze in color and traditionally sweet like most Glenmorangies but one of the smoothest I have ever tasted. I thought the notes of chocolate were quite subtle and I didn’t get the coffee I was hoping for but absolutely delicious none the less. I got more of the dark fruits and spice than anything. Just when I thought it was over, the finish came rushing back and it was like drinking this all over again and I never wanted it to leave. I will always be looking forward to the next time I treat myself with this one! -
Old Pulteney 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 3, 2018 (edited March 10, 2019)My star rating is based on the taste and experience alone, for the price, it is a great value and something I will probably always have on hand. I would have to disagree with others that say this is not complex, each time I try this I find myself discovering new things that I hadn’t tasted the previous time. It is like a citrusy slightly sweet sea breeze and has a good long finish. The peat is there but I find myself really searching to find it. The scotch itself stands out way more than its label! -
Glenfiddich 14 Year Bourbon Barrel Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 15, 2018I can’t usually taste all the flavors described in the expert’s review but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. This is Slightly rosy in color and I get the smells of vanilla and caramel. When tasting, I can vaguely notice the char but get good notes of what I think taste almost like green apple and a moderate finish. Overall, I would say this is an excellent scotch!50.0 USD per Bottle -
Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 13, 2018Got this as a sample with another bottle. First thoughts were that it is not typical of a Glenmorangie. I was surprised to get a little smoke on the nose but tasted sweet as well which was more to be expected. Complex with a nice warmth to it. I think I could really learn to appreciate this one if I had a full bottle but I also believe there are better options out there for me at this price point. -
Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 12, 2018 (edited December 27, 2018)Nice light fruity scotch and surprisingly smooth for a 10 year. Definitely get the vanilla but I seem to get more apple than orange in my opinion. Moderate finish, overall, I think it is a great for a beginner looking to dabble into the scotch game and doesn’t hurt the wallet too bad36.0 USD per BottleStompers Beverage
