One of the finest rye whiskies I’ve ever had. Tried it at the distillery with distillers Todd and Alex. If you ever get the chance to try this rich whiskey, I hope the cost does not deter you.

Finished in White Port barrels for 18 months. 48.6% abv. Barrel #17296, Bottle #4. The fact that more whiskies are not finished in white port is a shame. This is a subtle, light, and delicate whiskey. Finished in barrels that held wine of the same nature. The nose is wedding cake, white grape juice, minerality, lemon curd, graham crackers, and burnt sugar. The palate is toffee, white Swiss roll, milk chocolate, soft serve, and enough savory barrel character that it’s not nauseating.

I wish it was Black Velvet. It’s alright.

Nothing special, nothing offensive. Paid $18 for it, it’d be good value for money if closer to $10.
