Drinking neat. The nose on this reminds me of the good dark part of a cinnamon coffee cake. I get spices and almost a buttery mix of cinnamon and brown sugar. It coats your mouth with a spiced sweetness that seamlessly moves to char. The proof shows with a nice warmth you feel on your lips and tongue but it’s smooth all the way. The finish is moderately long and the warm notes lighten up almost in a refreshing way. Oak definitely shows on the finish. Each sip greets you again with a fantastic nose.

Neat from rocks glass. The nose is fantastic. Sweet oaky maple. I get a lot of woody notes with char. Some sweet maple as it breathes. Smooth with more heat in my chest than expected but still smooth. Finish lingers and makes me want more. Did I mention I want more?

Drinking neat. Nose is oaky with baking spices. Starts with a touch of warming burn. Oaky leather on the tongue. Finish moves from some burnt brown sugar sweetness to a bit of herbal quality on the tail end. A quality, affordable sipper.

Drinking neat. Nose is like a buttery baked crust with fall spices. Drinks so smooth with a gentle warmth. Initially I get warm spices and caramel. Finishes with a touch of green apple perhaps. Finish slowly fades into an herbal quality. I am new to bourbon but this is a fine bottle to have, especially at the price point I found it.

Nose is like pancakes and syrup on a plate hewn from oak. Oak for days. Burnt sugar on the exhale. Smooth and warming. A great sipper while I remember a friend lost a year ago to suicide. If you need help or know someone that does call 800-273-8255.

Drinking neat. After having this a few times you get used to the high level of sweetness. The maple is strong. Maybe too much for some people but I enjoy it. The heat on the finish is welcome. I think this is best enjoyed now that it is late summer and going into fall. I look forward to a crisp fall day with changing leaves and a tall pour of this whiskey. I think that type of day is what Breakfast of Degenerates is made for.

Rocks glass with a small ice cube. Pours a nice amber color. Nose: Vanilla with some fall baking spices. Taste: Smooth vanilla and caramel with some spice. As the small cube of ice melts more oak starts to pop. Finish is moderate with oaky char that slowly fades. Buffalo Trace is special to me because it is a favorite of my dad’s. I don’t see him as often as I like but I know if I am sipping on some Buffalo Trace there is a chance he is doing the same. This is a good sipper and I am lucky to live in an area where this is readily available at a good price.

Neat from Glencairn. Pours a beautiful amber. Nose: Pancakes and syrup served on a piece of oak. I could smell this all day. Taste: Hits with sweet burnt sugar and tons of oak. Mellows into a nice char that lingers. Finish: Long char that mellows into subtle sweetness with a warm kiss. I’m a bourbon and whiskey newbie and I really like this.

Neat in Glencairn glass. Purchased at Citywide Liquor in Mishawaka, IN. Nose: Sweet maple and pecans. Taste: Very sweet maple hits front and center. Mid palate is some nuttiness. Finish is some lingering sweetness without much heat. Drinks super-smooth. Good for when you want something sweet and easy drinking. Would be perfect around a fall bonfire.
