Nose: sweet molasses smacks you in the face followed by a nice bread note. Reminiscent of syrup and panackes. I even get the butter on top note. Followed by a nutty and citrus note. Palate: light consistency. Very oaky. Wish the nose matched the palate tbh. Still pretty good. A nice vanilla note on the back end. Pretty traditional tasty bourbon.Belle Meade Plantation

Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A124
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 8, 2024 (edited June 10, 2024)Nose: deep leather and chocolate, with added notes of butterscotch and a light sweet cinnamon. Pretty high proof and little to none ethanol on the nose. Palate: absolutley delicious. Wow. So much dark chocolate here. Its like a high proof WDO. So surprised by this simpmy because I had no expectations. After you’re smacked in the face by dark chocolate, I get a very nice fresh baked bread note. Together its like drinking chocolate fudge cake. This is followed by notes of leather and the slightest bit of dark cherry. I mean wow, so so good. Added bonus: it was a birthday bottle, so I didn’t spend a dime. -
I finally got one!!! Let’s goooooooo….Nose: Obviously Honey and Cinnamon, with a heavy cream cheese icing note. Matches batch 1 with the most insane nose I’ve ever smelled. You could make a candle out of this stuff. Palate: so light and sweet. It’s like drinking dessert. Amazing notes of butterscotch, honey, cinnamon, that cream cheese icing note, and then some nice oak on the backend. Absolutley delicious. It’s crazy to me how they get it to taste like this. It’s like a liquid cinnamon roll, with the icing. Maybe a little hint of coconut too. My friend bought two, which I thought was overkill….now I am a little jealous.99.99 USD per BottleJAX Fine Wine & Spirits

Nose: honey and sweet wood (obviously), graham cracker, cream cheese icing, and peaches. Honey nut cherrios (or some other sweet cereal that i can’t remember). Very mellow on the nose for 112 proof. Palate: honestly underwhelming on the honey; i was expecting a mouthful of honey like Rio. Still delicious. I get lighter notes of honey, herbs, graham cracker, vanilla, and the essence of tanins on the backend. Overall great pour. In the conversation of honey finished, Rio wins for having more honey flavor. But overall, i enjoy this pour more than Rio. Its probably because of the proof.JAX Fine Wine & Spirits

Moonrise's Master Distiller "Best He Ever Made" Decanter Pour (1/27/2024)
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed January 27, 2024Nose: insanely sweet, reminds me so much of penelope rio but this is not a finished bourbon. Extremely deserty on the nose with notes of cream cheese icing and cinnamon graham crackers. Palate: delicuously sweet and smooth. He said that it rings in around 122 proof but I would have guessed 107. Heavy notes of honey, butterscotch, and cinnamon. A great punch of vanilla comes in on the back end with a fairly long finish. So freaking good. Great guy and an awesome experience. -
Moonrise Distillery Single Barrel Bourbon (Artisan Small Batch)
Bourbon — Clayton, Ga, USA
Reviewed January 27, 2024Nose: honey, oak, spice, and vanilla. Palate: oak, caramel, spice, and honey. Very traditional bourbon flavors here, but it’s surprisingly good. There’s a pretty distinct leather note on the back end that I really like.
