Tastes

Nose: fresh cut wood, honey, caramel, and spice. Palate: creamy with notes of honey suckle, herbs, and spice. Reminds me of a graham cracker with honey on it. Delicious. Very long finish. Was not expecting this to be as sweet as it is. Great bottle. Bonus points: this is a beautiful and classy looking bottle.

Nose: cinnamon, bitter oak, graham crackers, vanilla, and ethanol. Palate: very delicate and sweet with notes of honey, baking spice, and oak. Got some good bite that an older aged bourbon normally would. If you could bottle liquid snickerdoodle cookies, that would be what this bottle is. Delicious.

Nose: very sweet with notes of a sweet oak, maple, chocolate fudge, and molasses. Palate: soooo smooth; notes of oak, spice, and chocolate, followed by a long and sweet maple syrup finish. Normally with some bourbons, a long finish entails progessing flavor notes; this, however, is just a lingering essence of maple syrup and oak. Delicious and quite decadent as the name would imply. I was honestly expecting something like Penelope Rio since this is a finished bourbon. However, Penelope Rio is delicious yet almost overpowering in it’s honey flavor….I said almost. This Decadence is not that way, it’s more of a naturally sweet bourbon that has distinct notes of maple syrup…but maple syrup isn’t the only prominent note. A good comparison, in my opinion, would be a Woodford Double Oaked or an Eagle Rare finished in maple syrup barrels. Great pour. 

Nose: light oak, citrus, honey, herbs, very fresh smelling. Palate: coats the mouth very well, I get notes of oak, caramel, rye spice, honey, and some sort of unique sweetness that I can’t quite pin point, this is delicious. I can’t wait to try it again in a couple weeks, I’m sure this will get much sweeter.

Nose: vanilla, coffee, caramel, light ethanol. Palate: butterscotchy, with notes of coffee grounds, chocolate, leather, and oak. Delicious bottle, can’t wait to taste in again in a week or so and give a more in depth review.

Nose: sweet corn, light caramel, light honey suckle flower. Palate: sweet corniness, with notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak. Not super complex. I don’t normally enjoy the more corn flavor forward bourbons, but the sweet adds a very nice balance to this. I can see now why this is the first bourbon I ever enjoyed.

Nose: super sweet butterscotch with notes of smoke, leather, brown sugar, vanilla, and honey suckle. Beautiful nose, this would make an amazing candle. Palate: so smooth and oily. Coats the mouth very well and leaves a creamy mouthfeel afterwards. I get HEAVY notes of butterscotch candy, leather, oak, smoke, and maybe some creamy vanilla. This is another bottle that is just the spitting image of my ideal palate. So delicious, I need another bottle of this batch. It’s going to suck when people discover how good this stuff is and it turns into a $200 bottle.

Nose: pepper, salt, woody. Palate: tastes like a cheap bourbon. I love a lot of low dollar bourbons but this just tastes cheaply made. Vanilla, cherry, and wood. Not much there. Super short finish. Booty.

Nose: notes of fresh flowers, honey, maple syrup, and oak. Gotta be one of my favorite noses of all time. Palate: mouth numbing (YES!! Been seeking this feeling since I had Weller Full Proof months ago). Very creamy. I’m getting notes of honey and oak big time, followed by that same floral taste and a good burn. As the flavor develops, (my mouth gets more numb) I notice notes of cinnamon spice and some sort of light fruit. This was INCREDIBLE. Loooooong finish that just keeps on going. Delicious pour.

Nose: sweet tabacco, leather, caramel, sweet red apple, and vanilla. Taste: creaammyyy vanilla, leather, brown sugar, baking spice, very sweet tabacco, and that same crisp red apple right on the end. Its very mouth numbing which adds to the creaminess of the vanilla. Still has the amazing sweetness of normal Blanton’s but at cask strength which makes it 10x better. Extremly long finish (quite the journey). Honestly hard to explain how good this is. Soooo sweet, So delicious. Gotta be the best I’ve had. Bonus points (as if it needed any): cleanest and crispiest pop I’ve heard yet.
