Tastes

Coming from a mix of ryes, I was surprised it was sort of muted, not a lot of spice, more of a gentle drinker

Neck pour was a bit hot. It sat for awhile and tasted it again and it was great, the Carmel and yes a bit of coconut were present , great long finish.

Carmel, some fig, then a bit of rye spice to temper down the sweetness

I will always have a bottle on hand. The neck pour was a bit sweet. But over time it developed into a nice 12 year that seemed to reinvent itself the longer between pours. But not in a bad way

It is everything that the expert stefanie wrote, except I get a little medicinal taste in the finish. Yet I rate it higher then her , I believe it gives a little more complexity of flavor then she gives it credit for. Price point , buy a bottle of Beams distiller cut, old tub and serve them to your bourbon snob friends without revealing the names. They will rave over these 2 bottles

Strong alcohol on nose and at the start of the palate , but then the burnt sugar , subtle vanilla , hint of roasted peanuts with a peppery and slightly sweet finish. Unchilled , unfiltered gem. Put it in a line up of Bookers and you would not notice the difference ( except country ham which I give a 6 )

Dusty peanut shells, sweet Carmel corn. Like a summer day at the ballpark.
