Compared to the barrel strength toasted rye there is noticeably less oak on the nose. A bit of honey up front. The finish is dominated by rye spice that just lasts and lasts. Smooth and almost no burn. This is a nice whiskey but is a bit one dimensional. I may be in the minority here but this is probably my least favorite rye from Michter's. I really enjoy the campfire notes in the toasted barrel, the complexity of the 10 year and the vanilla notes in the standard rye. This isn't bad but considering the price tag you could do better. Barrel 21B375. Proof 106.8.

Candy. Coconut. Oak. Overall, this is a very enjoyable flavor profile. Mouthfeel is a bit light but that is expected given the proof. If this had been bottled at 100+ proof it could have easily been a spectacular bourbon.

Char. Graham Cracker. Oak. Surprisingly not hot for being 120 proof. This is a very interesting and complex bourbon. Easily the best Parker's Heritage release over the last few years.

Begins with strawberry. Then herbal. Finishes with pipe tobacco. At first I didn’t love this but it grew on me the more I drank it. Weller Antique 107 wins easily in a side by side tasting even after adding water to dilute it to a similar proof. Overall this is alright but it doesn’t deserve the hype that it receives.

Compared to 2017 this is smokier and dryer. Toasted oak in the nose. Campfire is the predominant flavor. Marshmallow and rye spice in the finish. Overall I find this to be a bit on the dry side and it would benefit greatly from just a little more sweetness. Barrel 20H1757. Proof 110.2.
