George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2020)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 19, 2021 (edited November 22, 2021)Vanilla. Caramel. Nice mouthfeel and just the right burn. The perfect amount of oak. Not too hot considering 138 proof. Overall this is an incredibly well balanced bourbon. In my opinion this should be the benchmark for which all other bourbons are compared. I had William Larue Weller 2020 immediately following this and I preferred the George Stagg 2020.28.0 USD per Pour -

Elijah Craig Kentucky Straight Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 5, 2021 (edited March 28, 2022)I mostly drink 100+ proof ryes these days. The first time I drank this it tasted a little bit watered down. Having revisited it a couple times it has grown on me significantly. It has the standard Elijah Craig flavor profile. Big bold oak, caramel and sweetness with a touch of rye spice. As a fan of Elijah Craig I've really started to enjoy this. Update: Tasted side by side with Pikesville Rye. The Elijah Craig Rye is a shade lighter. I prefer the concentrated flavors and the thick chewy mouthfeel of the Pikesville Rye.27.0 USD per Bottle
