Very Smokey through and through. I taste a little corn and pepper, but that’s about it. It is very smooth though!

Bought this to mix with egg nog. I am surprised at how it disappeared so I tried to separately. Not a bad taste, just not super powerful. Nose is really great, sweet cinnamon. Flavor is vanilla and pretty smooth. There’s a little oak later on in the taste. It’s just mild and simple overall. Decent sipper, but will have to try in an old fashioned to see if it disappears again.

I get loads of cherry (almost cherry syrup)on the nose. This is one of the smoothest bourbons I have had. While it like some heat/bite, this is great. It’s also sweeter than what I typically go for. Lots of vanilla and cherry. There’s some cherry Garcia vibes. This a little cinnamon later on and very mild oak for 9 years.

This is a really really good cocktail rye. The nose is certainly banana and vanilla. It definitely tastes young. There’s a bit of mint that conflicts with the banana and vanilla. A nice little delayed burn that reminds you about the rye. I think this would be really good with longer age.

Rural inn #4: 121.58 proof Going backwards a bit, but the finish is awesome. Super long and warm. Back to the beginning: I get some honey on the nose along with vanilla bean. Sweet notes on the front with meringue quality. Vanilla continues throughout. Heat kicks in pretty strong, which I enjoy but would beat up your pallet for other tastings that night. Overall, this is my type of bourbon, only knock is that it is a little simple.

Nose is pretty fruity, maybe pear and wheat. Taste definitely has lots of floral notes like wheat and licorice. Not particularly smooth. Finish has honey, but it also a little bitter, like an overbrewed tea with honey. Finish has moderate finish.

I think this is a hit! Had this as a post race tasting first and was impressed then. Got myself a bottle to confirm and wasn’t disappointed. Very fruit nose with plum, cherry, clove. Color is the only thing that says that this is a two year whiskey. I definitely get plenty of sherry and mild pepper. I love the finish too. It gets a little bitter at the very end that is almost citrus rind.

Nose for me is full of cherry and spice. I do get a lot of cinnamon right away that moves into oak, leather and a little vanilla. Despite the high proof, still not a tough pour to drink straight.

I Have recently found this company at a recent tasting and have been impressed! Surprisingly extremely smooth. Simpler in flavor. There’s some honey sweetness and floral notes. Good oak for a 6 year product.

I have always been a big whistlepig fan, but I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I do! The nose clearly has plenty of rye spice as well as some baked apple and cinnamon sugar. Plenty of creamy vanilla and floral notes. I’m impressed with how smooth it is with its proof and being 100%rye. Black Peppery long finish.
