Nashville Barrel Small Batch Rye A Duet of Ryes (Batch 2)
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed January 13, 2024Fun nose: vanilla, honey, caramel, and even a floral note I really like this whiskey. Great mouth feel, oily leading to a long finish. Surprisingly sweet notes in a good way. Soft caramel and vanilla upfront. A little mint and brown sugar follow. I get oatmeal butterscotch cookie with this combo. Theres a jumo in the finish with all the flavors and i only wish it lasted a bit longer. This my 3rd Nashville barrel drink and im quickly becoming a fan. -
Traveller Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — USA
Reviewed January 13, 2024 (edited January 14, 2024)$40 seems like the perfect price for this blend. Nose is very light. Vanilla and fruity (berry?). The overarching theme is vanilla throughout. Oak is the other primary flavor that comes just a bit later and leaves a bit earlier. I get a little cinnamon towards the end that turns into a bitterness that may have a leather/tobacco tone. Very smooth, but that finish is just a little unpleasant. I had to really look for other flavors outside of the vanilla and oak, but those 2 flavors and smoothness makes for a perfectly acceptable $40 whiskey!39.99 USD per Bottle -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed May 31, 2023This is so good! I get all the sweet notes with the soft chew caramels, vanilla, molasses, slightly burnt brown sugar, and some banana that actually hits me just a bit later. Think freshly flambed banana foster. Some gentle spices come with the hotter part of the taste with cinnamon and maybe even a little floral note. The finish is probably the best part with long slow banana cream pie flavors. I didnt note anything on the nose because I took too big of a whiff and dont get much at this point. -
The complexity takes on a while need meaning on this one! Ive had one other beer based whiskey in the past from a local distillery and the combo of the rye definitely steps things up. I think the rye shows uo with a strong dill presence, as well as some black pepper and maybe some leather. The hops come through with citrus. There is a potent but enjoyable bitterness on the back of the tongue. Theres a very long finish that also changes. More beer flavors to start and at the end I get that dill again. Fun whiskey I look forward to sharing.

Novice in gin, but thisnis a really fun and distinguisable one! The herbal notes are really fun. I do get a little of thr olive up front quickly followed by a little heavier rosemary. I enjoy the heat since im typically a hot bourbon fan. I have been on the hunt for this bottle for a while and im glad i foind it going into the summer for a more refreshing option!

Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 8, 2023 (edited January 29, 2023)Nice fruity nose with dried cherry. I love port finishes because of these fruity overlays. This one still have plenty of oak and vanilla early. This is followed with plum, pecans, brown sugar, and dates. Surprisingly complex. Finish isn’t as smooth as I expected, but otherwise not much to complain about. Almost maybe wish it had a little longer in the port barrel. -
Bought this to mix with egg nog. I am surprised at how it disappeared so I tried to separately. Not a bad taste, just not super powerful. Nose is really great, sweet cinnamon. Flavor is vanilla and pretty smooth. There’s a little oak later on in the taste. It’s just mild and simple overall. Decent sipper, but will have to try in an old fashioned to see if it disappears again.
