Woodinville Cask Strength Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Washington, USA
Reviewed October 31, 2020 (edited February 25, 2021)Even with the higher ABV this is some smooth bourbon neat. I normally need to add water at this range, not here. The rich bourbon flavors are on point for me -
I’m not a fan of the nose at all. Has a very familiar nose, similar to that of a semi famous secondary Tennessee whisky. I’m tasting off of a neck pour so I’m hoping once it rests it will be better. This tastes young, can certainly tell it’s a corn whiskey. It’s not a daily sipper type for me. Not bad, I won’t need another bottle for some time, maybe ever.

Rabbit Hole Dareringer Straight Bourbon Finished in PX Sherry Casks
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 25, 2020I let it air for a few minutes and I really like the nose without too much ethanol; it’s definitely a pleasant sherry nose and all that entails with the fruit. For the taste it’s a nice sweet on the entry with a nice easy warm finish. Good whiskey. Maybe a little more proof for me wouldn’t hurt although the nose makes that alright. -
Old Ezra 7 Year Barrel Strength Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2020 (edited May 8, 2020)Nice vanilla and sweet notes. For me no water needed, I do have a water back. I normally need to add a little water over 50% ABV. This is delicious if you can find it. -
Fighting Cock Kentucky Straight Bourbon (NAS)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 15, 2020 (edited July 25, 2020)For under $20 this is a great find. Typical bourbon notes on the nose with sweet vanilla and caramel. The nose is a little young. If you let it sit the alcohol settles. On the palate it’s still sweet with a fair finish. It’s not the best on the bar, it is a great daily sipper.
