Almost a mint chocolate taste. I’ve passed over this so many times but glad I finally picked up a bottle. $50 may be a little much but it’s good.

I wish I still had the green label to compare it to bc at first 107 isn’t as good as I remembered. That said, the more I get into this one, the more I enjoy it. Sweet with a bite that lasts.

Just finished an incredibly fun double blind tasting of 8 bourbons with my wife. Four Roses, Evan Williams SB, Elijah, Russell’s, Blade&Bow, Willett, and Eagle Rare. To my surprise, BLANTON’S was my favorite. I’m a fan of anything Buffalo Trace makes but have always claimed ER as my go to. I’ll join the crowd and have a Blanton’s from now on.

Taste overshadows the nose which is, meh... but that taste! Mmmmm just like fruity jelly

Somehow they managed to bottle vanilla cake... and did a damn fine job of it. Much better than other $35 bottles.

After another disappointing whiskey, I picked this up in Gatlinburg too. It’s been in my wishlist for a year but not available in MS. Worth the wait! Smells and tastes sweet, but not candy-sweet. Easy to drink. Would be a 5 but finish is short.

Picked up this beautiful bottle on a trip to Gatlinburg at a fair price. Color and nose remind me of the generic cheep stuff. Resist the temptation to drink from the jigger and just go with the glencarin to find a hint of cinnamon.

I drank Jack Long before I was a whiskey drinker. Always mixed with Coke. Coming back years later I understand why Jack and Coke is more popular than Jack. There’s no flavor. A strong burn for lighter proof but light nose and mouthfeel. Sure it’s fine for an intro to whiskey or mixed with Coke, I guess. I think the Lincoln Co Process is probably doing more damage than good. Thanks for reminding me how nice good whiskey actually is.

My first impression is fantastic. I’ve held off buying Michter’s American Whiskey because I wanted to try other “real bourbons” first. What a mistake! This stuff exceeds the hype. The flavor is similar to Michter’s Bourbon but the aged barrels round the flavor profile. It’s so easy to drink.
