Old Bardstown Estate Bourbon 101 Proof
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 7, 2020 (edited April 7, 2021)Almost a mint chocolate taste. I’ve passed over this so many times but glad I finally picked up a bottle. $50 may be a little much but it’s good. -
Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 24, 2018 (edited January 7, 2019)Just finished an incredibly fun double blind tasting of 8 bourbons with my wife. Four Roses, Evan Williams SB, Elijah, Russell’s, Blade&Bow, Willett, and Eagle Rare. To my surprise, BLANTON’S was my favorite. I’m a fan of anything Buffalo Trace makes but have always claimed ER as my go to. I’ll join the crowd and have a Blanton’s from now on.Jackson -

Maker's Mark 46 French Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 10, 2018 (edited November 12, 2018)Somehow they managed to bottle vanilla cake... and did a damn fine job of it. Much better than other $35 bottles. -
TINCUP American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Colorado), USA
Reviewed October 25, 2018 (edited October 31, 2018)Picked up this beautiful bottle on a trip to Gatlinburg at a fair price. Color and nose remind me of the generic cheep stuff. Resist the temptation to drink from the jigger and just go with the glencarin to find a hint of cinnamon. -
Jack Daniel's Old No. 7
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed May 18, 2018 (edited September 5, 2021)I drank Jack Long before I was a whiskey drinker. Always mixed with Coke. Coming back years later I understand why Jack and Coke is more popular than Jack. There’s no flavor. A strong burn for lighter proof but light nose and mouthfeel. Sure it’s fine for an intro to whiskey or mixed with Coke, I guess. I think the Lincoln Co Process is probably doing more damage than good. Thanks for reminding me how nice good whiskey actually is. -
Michter's US*1 American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — USA
Reviewed April 18, 2018 (edited October 31, 2018)My first impression is fantastic. I’ve held off buying Michter’s American Whiskey because I wanted to try other “real bourbons” first. What a mistake! This stuff exceeds the hype. The flavor is similar to Michter’s Bourbon but the aged barrels round the flavor profile. It’s so easy to drink.
