Good whiskey… NOT a bourbon… for the price. A little young but more than 3 yrs old. Nose gives the alcohol with subtle dried fruits, vanilla and cinnamon. Palate is sweet up front (definitely the 70% corn in the mash), cherries, oak and a little leather. Finish is solid; burn is good but nothing unpleasant. The sweet corn lingers with the leather, oak and a touch of caramel.44.0 USD per Bottle

Redwood Empire Pipe Dream Bourbon
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed December 7, 2021 (edited December 31, 2021)First bourbon I’ve had from CA (I was reluctant). Nose is sweet, soft vanilla and oak. Smooth sipping with vanilla, citrus and a hint of oak and pine. Finish is easy, lacking a hug but continues with vanilla and subtle red fruit. Not complex but a unique bottle to have on the bar. -
George Dickel 8 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed July 31, 2021 (edited August 13, 2021)The corn is definitely present on the nose and the palate. Nose has subtle green apple and vanilla. Palate, again, has a ton of corn with some baking spice, oak and a touch of maple syrup. Finish is smooth with a gentle hug and lingering rye. Definitely better than the Dickel No. 8… for the price, it’s pretty good. -
For the price, this is great bourbon. Vanilla, brown sugar and some oak on the nose… the high proof I’d apparent as well. Some red fruits with more brown sugar and maybe subtle caramel and cured tobacco on the palate. There is a “hug” on the finish but it’s smooth for the proof. The brown sugar turns to burnt sugar and caramel.

Reviewed May 31, 2021 (edited March 19, 2022)Smooth and sweet with enough rye spice, ever so slight pepper finish. I do get honey/hard candy on the nose. Finish is warm and pleasant. Really nice bottle for around $35.
