2008 bottle Nose: light sweet peat come first, nutmeg, vanilla, honey, fruits, barley malt, kinda sweet nose. It take time to get all the flavor and alot of imaginations... Taste: creamy vanilla peat! Honey, salt, fruits, sherry(?). Thin and sweet. Aftertaste: medium Wasnt bad, wasnt a outstanding whisky. Which is good for this kinda of blend, it serve the purpose as a easy going whisky with some complexity. Problem is the newer version is more peated and somehow over shadow the fruitiness and vanilla, thin mouth feel and finish abit bitter doesnt help either. 2.5/5

Old bottle Nose: a lot of dried fruits! Old plums especially! Some spices and after a few sips, tangerine! Taste: sweet plum, oily and slightly sticky and then tangerine again! Aftertaste: short I couldn't get the vanilla taste like other people do but first sip is a lot of dried fruits and last sip I get the tangerine taste! Not as complex as some whisky but the fruitiness and smoothness of this cognac is why a fav among some old folks!

Blanton's Gold Edition
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 10, 2017 (edited September 23, 2022)Wow nose is so woody (lots of oak). Followed up with dried fruits and hints of vanilla and honey. Erm maybe very faint of alcohol? Taste is same as the nose but fuller and slightly more complex. Lots of oak, some honey, pepper, thick and oily! It finishes long. The best bourbon I tasted so far! Bourbon mark 93/100! -
Lagavulin 12 Year (2016 Special Release)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 17, 2016 (edited March 8, 2017)Nose: peat smoke! Some fruits come afterwards, apple, pear, etc. Taste: pepper! Brine, fruits, malt and more pepper! Then you can feel the smoke afterwards. Aftertaste: long! Some said the 2015 version is more balance but i like this for the extra peat and peppery taste. 92/100! Quickly grab one! -
Nose: beach! I really thought its going to be more peat smoke than 2016 12 year old or 16 year old. Then some fruits breeze come from far far away. Oh my this is good. Taste: peaty and salty with fruits come along. Some barley come at last. Quite surprised as it is alot less pepper than the 12 and 16 year old. Palate: short to medium with barley aftertaste. But i also have some green vegetables aftertaste. Hmmm.. Lovely stuff and very smooth 89/100! Now i shd get another 5 bottles.

Smell of wild flowers soak inside fresh water, some wild spices. Taste like wild flower! It really gives me the sensation of the holy water from a temple with flowers inside! With tonic water and a slice of lemon, it transform into a refreshing summer drink! Lemon, wild flowers .. refreshing! Love it!
