Tastes

I’m lucky enough to have owned 2 different bottles, one is bottled at 2012 and the other is bottled at 2014. The 2012 have a very good balance of oakiness and fruitiness while the 2014 have a stronger oak influence. Taste is the same as the nose, the 2012 is more balance and the 2014 have more oakiness. Both is medium thin bodied and finish medium short. For the price it is a very very good bourbon that able to compete with much higher priced bourbon. However, to put a score over it, the 2012 is a solid 4/5 as i really enjoy the balance aroma and taste, while the 2014 is a 3.5/5 for me as the oakiness is stronger and covered the fruitness of the bourbon. Not sure about the newer bottles as now they bottled it 8yo instead of 10 year old.

First nose from the newly open bottle.. Ethanol!! It need to breath awhile, I need to breath awhile too... with my rounded shape glass, surprise surprise roasted peanut! Its like a put my nose on top of fresh roasted peanuts! Then follow by the sweet corn, bourbon floral and this have the hint of rose smell which soon covered by fruity bubblegums. The vanilla and honey was not found here, maybe i'm using the wrong glass? Taste: sweetness of vanilla and honey are very dominant, lemon peel in the middle, liquorice and oak at the behind. Hmm some orange maybe? Aftertaste: medium long, peppery, oakiness Its quite oily, little peppery and quite some liquorice behind. I didnt get much of vanilla, apple/pear. But it's very fragrant, peppery and sweet which good for a occasional drink. And for the price there is really nothing to complain here. 4 stars for the price!

Nose: honey, pear, vanilla, manzanilla. Maybe some wet socks and bandage in a dusty warehouse? Very little peat and smoke. Taste: sweet sweet honey, pear, apple, pineapple, vanilla custard, manzanilla. Quite salty afterwards Aftertaste: medium long, sweet and salty I strongly believe that if this were bottle at a higher strength, it will be a solid 90+point. However at 43% its highly drinkable, easy to enjoy at the same time complex enough.

Nose: fresh lime! A lot less peppery than last batch and very smooth citrus. Taste: ripe citrus fruits, a little sharp, medium bodied. Aftertaste: medium with some spices I would say this is a stronger flavor Glenfiddich 12. Both sweeter and spicier. Which makes me think this is a 8-10year old whisky. This batch (tasted 2017 July), show more bodied, much more smoother, and very refreshing at the same time. For the price, recommended!

Nose: nice floral, fresh cut grass, some honey and hints of vanilla Taste: light fruits taste, some vanilla. It taste simple but quite enjoyable especially if serve to people who are new to Scottish whisky Aftertaste: short and grassy. The grassy taste show its young age, luckily it's not very spicy as per other young whisky. Quite easy to drink, suitable as a daily dram for people who enjoy a light and floral whisky.

Nose: Macallan 12 double cask but stronger? Not very complex as the sherry influence is strong here. Maybe some vanilla, orange peel? Taste: again a stronger macallan double cask. The spice here is much stronger than the macallan double cask. The spice is a lot stronger than most of the macallan I tried. Nutmeg, oak influence is very strong. Quite dry. Aftertaste: medium long with the spices and hints of sherry. Overall not bad, a more spicy whisky compare to macallan 12 / double cask.

Definitely a small step up from the normal Jameson, less alcohol burn in both nose and taste. This have more fruity, dried fruits smell than normal Jameson. Plus you can get the strong dried plum smell from the bottle once you open it! Taste is a lot more smoother, fruitier. Other than that you still can get the smell and taste of normal Jameson. Not bad for a Jameson

Nose: sherry, some oak, vanilla Taste: full, oily, sweet, fruity, and some oak. Aftertaste: short with some pepper This is a great 12 year old whisky. It's thick, rich, fruity, and smoooth!
