Woodinville Private Select Single Barrel #3583
Bourbon — Washington, USA
Reviewed April 2, 2021 (edited September 20, 2022)Not sure what's going on here but it's good. Strange nose, grainy? Silky sweet palette that quickly switches to rye spice. Long finish full of rye spice. I prefer more oak at cask strength but this is a delicious change of pace. I wasn't too impressed on the neck pour but it's much richer after a couple months. I had a pour of Larceny BP B520 prior; This is much easier to drink and seemingly higher quality. This is my first experience with Woodinville and it won't be my last. J.P. Wiser's Triple Barrel Rye
Canadian — Ontario, Canada
Reviewed March 28, 2021 (edited September 6, 2021)As some who enjoys a neat pour, this is a below average whiskey. I was taken back on the fresh crack, far cry from American rye. A few months later it has actually changed quite a bit. Super sweet with a decently spicy mouth feel. There's a dominant note I can't place. I'm new to Canadian whiskey, maybe it's normal but not quite pleasant. At $18 I can't really complain. May even be fair to say this is high end budget whiskey. Good background whiskey? That said, I'll be blending this with other whiskey searching for a better balance. Too sweet on its own.18.0 USD per Bottle -
Old Ezra 7 Year Barrel Strength Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 27, 2021 (edited August 20, 2021)I heard this is distilute from Heaven Hill and I can taste it. Tastes exactly like Evan Williams bib but aged a few more years and at 117 proof. Sweet, nutty, cinnamon and orange citrus. Seems similar to Wild turkey rare breed but nuttier. This had a high value at the $40 price I was paying. At the new price of $60 near me, not so much. This is good but I'll stick with Rare Breed for my budget barrel proof bourbon.40.0 USD per Bottle -
Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B520
